The
Lemon Law is a set of Statues and Laws which has been
accepted in all 50 states and covers contracts, warranties
and buyers from the sale of defective products or
in this case defective vehicles.
Many
Law Attorneys may offer free consultations to inform
consumers of their options on a case-by-case basis.
Be sure to have and include all applicable vehicle
information when consulting with an attorney including
Financing Information, VIN information and reported
or documented problems. Never deal directly with an
attorney which wish's to charge you an up-front fee
to hear your case!!
The
most important issue to isolate is the Vehicle Problem.
Be sure to have certified documentation from an experienced
mechanic relating to the vehicles Defect which can
include the following items.
- Engines
- Transmissions
- Brakes
- Steering
and Steering components
- Water
or Fluid Leakage
- Paint
or Body Defects
- Electrical
Malfunctions
- Other
Problems
Lemon
Suits are usually sought when a major problem with
one or more of the items has been attempted to be
repaired 4 or more times and the defect continues
to reside or the issue poses a serious Health or Safety
Issue.
Each
State may carry somewhat different forms of the Lemon
Law so it is always best to consult with a Lemon Law
Layer before proceeding.
Additional
their are some Departments and Advocate Groups as
well as Local Legal Aid sources which may be of resource
to you. To find these you can consult with your local
Attorney General.
